About the Role: We are seeking a talented Full Stack Python Developer to spearhead the modernization of our internal portal. The primary focus of this role is to migrate an existing Oracle Application Express (APEX) portal to a high-performance Flask or FastAPI framework. You will be responsible for re-architecting legacy workflows into modern, server-rendered web pages and self-service portals, ensuring that backend data access layers are optimized for our Oracle 19c/21c environments. Key Responsibilities: Modernization & Migration: Lead the migration of legacy Oracle APEX portals to Flask or FastAPI while preserving critical business functionality. Frontend Development: Build responsive, server-rendered web pages using Jinja2 templates for dashboards, complex forms, and Create, Read, Update, Delete (CRUD) workflows. Database Engineering: Write and optimize complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL (indexes, execution plans, joins); design efficient data access layers using python-oracledb or SQLAlchemy. API Design: Develop and document RESTful APIs to facilitate communication between the portal frontend and internal automation systems. Security & Access: Implement robust Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) using Single Sign-On (SSO) and OpenAuth protocols. DevOps & Automation: Maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and write comprehensive tests to ensure application stability. Self-Service Workflows: Create automated workflows for common infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks. Essential Skills: Core Backend: 36 years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python (Flask or FastAPI). Oracle Mastery: Solid experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including performance tuning and transaction management. Web Basics: Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Jinja2 templating. Environment: Proficient with Git and comfortable operating in a Linux/Unix environment. Desirable Skills: Legacy Knowledge: Prior experience migrating from Oracle Forms or similar legacy platforms. Modern Tooling: Exposure to React, Vue, Docker/Containerization, or Infrastructure Automation. Observability: Familiarity with Grafana or database administration (DBA) operations.
