Each person needs to do one week of training in California (we pay the expense) and they have to pass the training to be deployed to the field. Training starts on 3/2. Project kickoff call will be on 2/27. They will go to client facilities to upgrade medical devices. They will be client facing so they must have great presence and communication skills. They should have the following experience: Required skills are listed below in matrix 1* | Windows 10 imaging process for consistency | 2 | Tools used (DISM/MDT/WDS) - specific deployment example | 3 | Driver injection for specialized hardware | 4 | Thick vs thin vs hybrid images - recommendation | 5 | Feature update on production system, minimal downtime | 6 | Validating upgrade didn't break instrument software | 7 | Rollback strategy for failed upgrades | 8* | Security baselines before network connection (PHI) | 9 | BitLocker deployment experience | 10* | PHI handling - different steps than standard workstation | 11a 11b | Verify network connectivity to remote data collection | 12 | Troubleshoot network auth failure after reimaging | 13* | Change management in regulated environments | Requirement About the Role We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Field Service Technician to join our Managed Services team. This role involves providing hands-on technical support and maintenance for Windows-based systems at healthcare client sites. The ideal candidate is professional, adaptable, and able to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Key Responsibilities: Re-image and configure Windows client computers according to company and client standards. Install, upgrade, and replace system components (RAM, SSDs, network cards, peripherals, etc.). Perform routine system maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Ensure all hardware and software installations meet healthcare security and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA). Customer Interaction & Communication Maintain a professional demeanor while working in clinical and administrative areas. Communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively with non-technical users. Manage scheduling for services at client sites and plan efficient routes. Service Management Successfully complete onsite training at the client facility in the San Francisco Bay area. Document all work performed, including device configurations, asset information, and ticket updates. Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or the service desk as appropriate. Collaborate with remote MSP teams to ensure seamless delivery of IT services. Follow all safety and security protocols while working in healthcare facilities. Qualifications: Technical Skills Proficiency with Windows 7/10/11 setup, imaging, and troubleshooting. Experience with endpoint management tools. Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, connectivity, Wi-Fi troubleshooting). Familiarity with hardware installation and component upgrades. Experience with ticketing and documentation systems (e.g., ConnectWise, ServiceNow, Autotask). Soft Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service orientation and ability to build trust with clients. Dependable, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Represent the MSP client with professional presence and situational awareness in sensitive healthcare environments. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Requirements: 4+ years of experience in field service, IT support, or a similar technical role involving computer controlled systems, instruments or machinery. Must be able to attend and successfully complete onsite training at the client facility in the San Francisco Bay area. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (onsite visits required). Ability to lift and carry computer equipment (up to 40 lbs.). Must pass background checks and meet healthcare site access requirements. Availability to work during standard business hours, with occasional after-hours support as needed. Regional travel is required Preferred Qualifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications. Prior experience working in healthcare IT environments.
