Top Desired Skills: 1) 6+ years in BA capacity (specifically gathering requirements around reporting/data) 2) SQL Experience (ability to write complex SQL statements to extract data) 3) Healthcare experience 4) Excellent communication skills Nice to have: strong within SQL, exposure IBM Cognos or SAS Job Summary: The Business Intelligence (BI) Business Analyst/ Systems Analyst will be responsible for assisting members of the BI team with all aspects of requirements gathering and the activities associated with client implementations. In this role, the individual will also assist with testing reporting solutions and work as a liaison between the BI team and the account management implementation team. The role requires an individual who is inquisitive, enthusiastic, and talented at getting to the facts; with a keen attention to details and the resolve to follow up and follow through. Communication is key for this role in both written and oral forms. In addition to being an active listener, this individual must exhibit strong communication skills; with the ability to converse clearly, convey information in business-user terms, comprehend reporting requirements from a variety of functional areas, and be able to communicate with all levels of the organization. Desired Skills & Qualifications: Must have excellent communication and presentation skills as this person will be largely customer facing to gather requirements. Excellent communication skills must be able to listen, comprehend, and assist with the gathering of requirements from the end user to ensure the need or problem to be solved is addressed in the most proficient manner. Must also be able to communicate reporting and data concepts verbally in a manner that is understood by all levels of staff, as well as technical and non-technical end users. Creates comprehensive documentation in the form of business or system requirements, technical documentation of solutions, user guides, report samples, and data dictionaries. Must be comfortable presenting in front of large audiences (30-50 attendees) and have confidence to lead and guide conversations. Must be organized with the ability to manage multiple projects at any given time. The successful candidate must have the ability to work comfortably alone or as part of a team. Ability to work with all levels of staff, internal and external, and remain professional under stressful situations. Experience in the proper handling and protection of PHI. Demonstrated problem analysis and problem-solving skills in a technical environment. Participates in the full project life cycle from analysis to production implementation. Intermediate level knowledge of SQL. Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server. Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics and SAS preferred.
