Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Workday Payroll Lead with 10 to 12 years of IT experience to oversee our payroll systems and integration ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess active or prior Workday Payroll Certification and have an extensive background in building robust integrations to connect Workday with third-party payroll providers globally. Key Responsibilities Payroll Operations Lead: Drive the technical configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday Payroll processes, earnings/deductions codes, and tax configurations. Integration Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain high-performing integrations using Core Connectors (PECI/PICOF) and EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builders) to sync data with external systems. Vendor Management: Act as the technical liaison between internal HR/Finance teams and third-party payroll providers, ensuring accurate, timely, and secure transmission of global payroll data. Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as the tier-3 escalation point for complex payroll processing issues, integration failures, and schema updates. Compliance & Auditing: Ensure payroll configurations and data transmissions strictly adhere to local tax regulations, data privacy laws, and corporate audit controls. Mandatory Skills & Qualifications Experience: 10 to 12 years of overall IT/HRIS experience, with a heavy focus on payroll systems. Certification: Active or legacy Workday Payroll Certification is required. Integration Toolkit: Proven, hands-on experience building integrations using Core Connectors (specifically Payroll Effective Change Interface) and EIBs. Third-Party Payroll: Demonstrated experience integrating Workday with major third-party payroll providers (e.g., ADP, CloudPay, Alight, or local in-country providers). Location: Must be able to work on-site or in a hybrid model in O'Fallon, Missouri.
