Technical Lead Active Directory, SCCM & Endpoint Management

Location: RemotePosition Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with deep expertise in Active Directory, SCCM, Endpoint Management, and Enterprise Device Infrastructure. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a scalable endpoint ecosystem that supports complex business and research environments. The ideal candidate will drive endpoint architecture strategy, automation, security compliance, device lifecycle management, virtualization solutions, and vendor engagement while serving as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT organizations.Key ResponsibilitiesEndpoint Architecture & Strategy
Design and maintain scalable endpoint architectures supporting high-performance computing, research applications, and enterprise workloads.
Develop long-term device management strategies aligned with organizational technology roadmaps.
Standardize endpoint platforms and operational processes across the enterprise.
Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives and endpoint technology upgrades.Endpoint Management & Automation
Architect, deploy, and manage Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions including SCCM, Microsoft Intune, KACE SDA/SMA, and related technologies.
Automate device provisioning, operating system deployments, patch management, software packaging, and application deployment processes.
Establish endpoint configuration standards and lifecycle management procedures.
Improve operational efficiency through scripting and automation frameworks.Active Directory & Directory Services
Design, implement, and administer Active Directory environments.
Create and manage Organizational Units (OUs), security groups, service accounts, and directory structures.
Configure and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security and operational standards.
Ensure identity management and endpoint access controls align with organizational policies.Virtualization & Remote Access Solutions
Design and implement Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) solutions.
Support remote access environments for users requiring high-performance computing capabilities.
Evaluate virtualization technologies and optimize user experience and system performance.Endpoint Monitoring & User Experience
Deploy and manage Nexthink or similar Digital Employee Experience (DEX) platforms.
Implement proactive monitoring, analytics, and automated remediation solutions.
Drive endpoint health initiatives and improve end-user productivity through predictive support models.Hardware Lifecycle Management
Evaluate, standardize, and support next-generation endpoint technologies including:
GPU-enabled workstations
VR/AR devices
Specialized sensors and peripherals
High-performance computing endpoints
Manage hardware refresh cycles and technology adoption strategies.
Ensure compatibility between endpoint devices and specialized business applications.Backup & Recovery Solutions
Architect and maintain enterprise endpoint backup and recovery solutions.
Develop disaster recovery procedures for critical endpoint infrastructure.
Ensure business continuity through effective data protection strategies.Security, Compliance & Risk Management
Enforce endpoint security standards and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams to implement security controls and remediation strategies.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analysis across endpoint environments.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.Vendor & Project Management
Serve as the primary technical contact for hardware, software, and service vendors.
Manage vendor relationships, escalations, and performance reviews.
Monitor SLA adherence and contractual obligations.
Lead endpoint infrastructure projects including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, execution, and delivery.Collaboration & Leadership
Act as a trusted advisor between business stakeholders, research teams, IT infrastructure, and security organizations.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to endpoint engineering and support teams.
Develop training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement practices.Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Create executive-level reports on infrastructure performance, project progress, compliance status, and vendor activities.
Develop operational metrics and KPIs for endpoint management services.
