Hello

Hope you are doing great.

Please find the below requirement and let me know your interest.

AI Enablement Coach Testing Track

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 6+ Months

CNA Contract (6 months, extendable to 12+) Hybrid prefer local, 2 days/week onsite

Priority |

Role 2 of 2 hire after Developer Track Lead is placed |

Engagement |

Contract, ~6 months initial; extension contingent on Playwright + MCP adoption outcomes |

Location |

Strongly prefer local / onsite 2 days/week. Exceptional remote candidates considered |

Org context |

Testing at CNA is further along the AI path than other functions but adoption and standardization gaps remain. Internal testing COE is small; most testing is externally resourced |

Key dependency |

Playwright + MCP go-live targeted within ~1 week of hire; this role accelerates what comes after |

About the Role

Testing at CNA is about to shift significantly. Playwright + MCP is on the verge of going live, and the ambition is to rapidly expand AI-enabled testing across the organization including cross-skilling Scrum Masters, RTEs, and POs into testing practices they've never formally owned. This role is the engine behind that expansion.

The Testing Coach partners directly with CNA's internal Testing COE a small team to standardize automation suite design, validate quality and coverage, and enable a much broader set of people to meaningfully participate in QA without requiring them to become full-stack developers. Testing, as Colton noted, is more naturally approachable for non-developers. This role capitalizes on that.

What You'll Own

Playwright + MCP adoption

Accelerate adoption of Playwright + MCP as the go-live happens; be the expert in the room for questions, configurations, and failure modes

Build enablement content and hands-on exercises that bring developers and non-developers alike up to speed on AI-assisted testing with Playwright

Stay current with MCP updates and Playwright capabilities as they evolve adjust curriculum in near real time

Automation standardization

Standardize automation suite design across teams so test quality doesn't depend on who wrote the tests

Validate that automation coverage meets the right bar not just that tests exist, but that they test the right things

Partner with the internal Testing COE to extend their capacity without requiring a large internal headcount increase

Cross-skilling non-developers

Enable Scrum Masters, RTEs, POs, and BAs to understand, review, and validate AI-generated test suites not to write them from scratch, but to not be helpless when they need to evaluate one

Design 'broken project' exercises and hands-on labs where non-developers can build comfort with testing concepts in an AI-augmented way

Establish what 'testing competency' looks like for roles that didn't previously own QA, and create a repeatable path to get there

What We're Looking For

Non-negotiables

Senior QA automation expertise with direct, hands-on Playwright experience not just awareness of it

Has worked with or built MCP integrations in a testing context or can credibly get there fast

Effective educator: can scale knowledge across broad, mixed-skill cohorts including non-developers

Strong enough technically to partner peer-to-peer with CNA's Testing COE, not just teach above them

Ideal profile

Background spanning both manual testing judgment and automation engineering understands what makes a test suite trustworthy, not just passing

Experience enabling non-QA roles to participate meaningfully in testing workflows

Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tooling and how LLMs change both test generation and test evaluation

GCP/cloud stack familiarity a plus; Atlassian ecosystem experience helpful

What Makes This Role Different from the Developer Track

Entry point |

Testing is more intuitive for non-developers this role gets to move faster on cross-skilling breadth than the Developer Track |

COE partner |

This role works alongside CNA's internal Testing COE rather than building a net-new function influence through collaboration, not authority |

Scope |

Narrower technically than the Developer Track (Playwright + MCP is the primary stack), but broader in audience Scrum Masters through developers |
