This role requires a strong technical individual contributor who combines deep AWS architecture expertise with hands-on cloud operations, automation, reliability, and production support experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-optimized AWS solutions while actively participating in day-to-day cloud operations, troubleshooting, modernization initiatives, and platform improvements. This is a highly technical role suited for someone who enjoys solving complex cloud challenges and working closely with engineering teams to deliver business-critical solutions. Key Responsibilities AWS Cloud Architecture & Design Design and implement enterprise-scale AWS cloud solutions aligned with business and technical requirements. Architect highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, and secure cloud environments. Develop cloud migration and modernization strategies for legacy applications and infrastructure. Design multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and governance best practices. Define cloud architecture standards, security controls, and operational guidelines. AWS Serverless Architecture Design and implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB. Build event-driven architectures supporting enterprise applications and integrations. Optimize serverless applications for performance, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency. Implement monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting for serverless workloads. Cloud Operations & Production Support Provide hands-on support for production AWS environments. Manage cloud operations, incident response, root cause analysis, and problem resolution. Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability across cloud services. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, security, and application issues. Participate in on-call support and operational excellence initiatives. Infrastructure Automation & DevOps Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Automate cloud provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes. Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS DevOps services. Build reusable automation frameworks to improve operational efficiency and consistency. Containerization & Kubernetes Design, deploy, and support containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Amazon EKS. Implement container orchestration, scalability, security, and observability best practices. Support production Kubernetes environments and troubleshoot complex cluster issues. Reliability, Monitoring & Observability Implement monitoring and observability solutions using CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, and related tools. Develop dashboards, alerting frameworks, and operational runbooks. Improve system reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR). Lead root cause analysis and implement preventative measures to reduce recurring incidents. Security & Governance Implement AWS security best practices including IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and CloudTrail. Support compliance, governance, auditing, and cloud security initiatives. Design secure network architectures utilizing VPCs, Transit Gateway, Load Balancers, WAF, VPN, and Direct Connect. Required Qualifications 10+ years of overall IT experience. 7+ years of hands-on AWS Cloud experience. Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise AWS architectures. Extensive experience with AWS Lambda and serverless application development. Deep understanding of AWS core services including: EC2 VPC IAM S3 RDS DynamoDB Lambda API Gateway CloudWatch CloudFormation Route 53 SNS SQS EventBridge Step Functions Strong experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS. Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code. Experience with CI/CD automation and DevOps practices. Strong Linux administration and cloud networking knowledge. Experience supporting production environments and resolving critical incidents. Proficiency in Python, Scripting, or Power. Preferred Qualifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional. Experience with multi-cloud environments (Azure and GCP). Experience with large-scale cloud migration and modernization programs. Experience with FinOps and AWS cost optimization initiatives. Experience implementing SRE and reliability engineering practices.
