Develop clear functional and technical requirements for surveillance scenarios, parameters, and alerts related to market abuse. Translate business requirements into data and technical specifications for developers, including entity relationships and data models. Work closely with development teams to explain data structures, joins, and logic required to build surveillance solutions. Validate data outputs by performing detailed testing and review of surveillance scenarios and datasets. Analyze trade and market data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and regulatory relevance. Support BAU surveillance operations through continuous improvement of rules, scenarios, and reporting. Required Experience Proven experience working in a surveillance environment. Strong understanding of: Market abuse and trade surveillance requirements across asset classes (Equities, FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives). Trade lifecycle (order creation through execution, allocation, and settlement). Executions and key trade events relevant for surveillance monitoring. Hands-on experience defining surveillance scenarios and parameters for detecting market abuse behaviors. Experience operating within a BAU function supporting surveillance or compliance technology. Experience performing data validation, scenario testing, and review of surveillance outputs. Technical Skills Advanced SQL knowledge, including: Writing and optimizing complex queries. Strong understanding of inner and outer joins and relational data structures. Ability to explain data relationships clearly to developers and stakeholders. Experience creating and interpreting: Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs). Data models and field-level mappings. Ability to work with multiple datasets and define how they should be joined and structured to meet surveillance requirements. Desirable Skills Experience with trade surveillance platforms (e.g., NICE Actimize, Nasdaq SMARTS, Behavox).
