The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of automation tools, scripting, and enterprise mainframe environments, with the ability to improve operational efficiency and system reliability. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain automation solutions for IBM mainframe environments. Automate batch processing, job scheduling, system monitoring, and operational workflows. Develop and maintain scripts and automation routines to reduce manual intervention. Monitor production jobs, identify failures, and implement automated recovery processes. Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to optimize system performance. Troubleshoot complex automation and scheduling issues in production environments. Lead automation initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability, and compliance. Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures. Mentor team members on automation best practices and tool usage. Participate in change management, deployments, and disaster recovery planning. Required Skills 12+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe technologies and production support. Strong experience with: IBM System Automation (SA z/OS) IBM NetView IBM Tivoli or equivalent monitoring tools CA 7, Control-M, AutoSys, or other enterprise schedulers JCL, REXX, and CLIST scripting TSO/ISPF and SDSF JES2/JES3 operations Experience in batch job automation and workload scheduling. Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills. Familiarity with incident, change, and problem management processes. Knowledge of ITIL practices and enterprise production support. Preferred Qualifications Experience with mainframe modernization or integration with distributed systems. Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or enterprise automation frameworks. Experience in banking, insurance, telecom, or other large-scale enterprise environments. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Soft Skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment. Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
