Role is 4 days onsite with potential for remote Fridays. Duration: 6-month contract (potential to extend) Interview Requirements: Initial interviews may be conducted via MS Teams/phone, but candidates MUST be local to Houston and able to attend onsite interviews if requested. Role Overview: Support the Smart Metering Program and lead activities for smart meter installation initiatives across multiple states. Work as part of a larger program delivering a multi-year (57 year) roadmap for next-generation smart metering devices and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Perform metering deployment requirements gathering and analysis across multiple workstreams. Gather critical metering deployment information from stakeholders and align interdependencies across deployment streams. Communicate technical meter specification changes and document progress against planned milestones. Develop integration test plans for gas metering systems across internal and external environments. Perform data mapping from client/server applications to SAP based on end-user requirements. Perform end-user acceptance testing (UAT) as part of the project team. Validate meter data across the end-to-end IT architecture solution. Update and maintain metering best practices and procedures. Evaluate business processes related to metering devices, identify improvements, and develop optimization strategies for deployment and long-term program benefit. Monitor and report Advanced Metering Project stakeholder changes across workstreams. Stay current on process and IT advancements to automate and modernize metering systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. 57+ years of relevant experience (Smart Meter and metering deployment experience required). Direct Utility or Gas industry experience in a regulated environment required. Experience with Smart Meters and meter installation programs. Hands-on experience with MS Office, Power BI, SAP, and Google BigQuery preferred. Additional Notes: Houston-only candidates; local presence required for onsite interviews and regular onsite work.
