Position: Data Engineer/Collibra/Investment Banking/SQL

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 1 year+

Visa: NO H1/OPT/CPT

We need very senior (10+ years) Data Engineers with experience in Investment Banking/Hedge funds, Brokerage, Capital Markets, or financial services (Not really interested in Retail Banks) like Morgan Stanley with strong Collibra experience.. Experience with Metadata and Python are a big plus. They want A+ candidates with extensive data/Collibra experience and long tenure on past projects, they will not consider job hoppers (DCAMS certified would be preferred 

The client wants 10+ years of experience

This is a phone and Skype to hire. Candidates in Charlotte, NC with a LinkedIn profile required.

More to come, but the basic data gov. skillset needed:

Experience with Collibra
Experience with SQL and queries
Experience supporting data governance-related efforts in a large bank
Data Governance / Data Management (DCAMS certified would be preferred)
Some coding languages / development experience preferred (but probably not a must)

Python / SQL

Detailed oriented with the ability to focus on managing multiple processes
Well versed in working with a variety of data/analytics roles including analysts, scientists, and engineers
Detailed knowledge in one or more data management areas such as data quality, data migration, metadata management
Experience in the roll-out and adoption of governance tools such as Alation, Collibra, Informatica, or Microsoft Purview.
Proficient in process documentation with an ability to guide others through complicated data flows to ensure common understanding
Significant experience in developing and socializing metrics in a way that tells a story
Highly skilled in tailoring communication to ensure buy-in across a wide range of business and technical roles
Experience presenting and influencing with senior/executive leadership
Capable of negotiation and influence of operational teams on data management improvement actions

Participating in preliminary data analysis for new projects to resolve whether required data exists within DTCC; identifying and detailing authoritative sources for existing data; defining onboarding plans for new data
Collaborating with business and operational collaborators to comprehensively analyze data in order to produce logical data element names, document clear and accurate data element descriptions, and identify valid values for the data
Assisting data modelers in producing conceptual and logical data models, including entity and attribute names and definitions
Applying the enterprise metadata repository to input and handle required metadata for critical and prioritized data elements in support of data management initiatives and enterprise-wide data modernization efforts
Supporting data quality through data profiling, defining and documenting data quality and data validation rules, performing root cause analysis for identified data quality issues, and supporting data cleansing efforts to ensure that data is fit for its intended use
Assisting the Data Steward with project planning, identification of resource requirements, and effort estimation
Independently handling assigned projects, through the life cycle from initiation through to closing
Defining, tracking, and reporting on critical metrics for identified use cases
Providing analytical and reporting capabilities to support decision making by the CoEs collaborators
Crafting and delivering clear and concise, high quality presentations to collaborators and leadership that provide the appropriate level of detail for the intended audience
Participating importantly as a core member of one or more agile squads, including attending daily stand-up, grooming sessions and other agile ceremonies, documenting user stories, and tracking and reporting on relevant project metrics

Strong understanding of data management processes and standard methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; experience with data management tools (e.g. Collibra), and business process tools (e.g. Mega HOPEX) preferred
Technical Skills preferred, such as the ability to profile data using SQL queries; basic understanding of Logical Data Modeling and Database design is a plus
