Contract to Hire (6 months) Ideally local or relocation from day one USC, GC, H4, EAD only Domain Insurance Video The Cloud Architect will provide technical architecture, design, and implementation for both new and migrated web applications and databases in the public cloud. This individual will collaborate with the team, vendors, and stakeholders to recommend and implement solutions, optimize the environment, and deliver on committed objectives. Responsibilities Analyze existing systems against organizational strategies to make well-defined recommendations and execution plans for efficiency and architecture/design improvements Design cloud-based solutions to include considerations for portability, high-availability, networking, security, data management, operations, and DevOps Architect, design, and implement web applications on AWS and potentially other cloud providers Leverage data solutions in the public cloud, such as traditional relational database technologies, No-SQL, and enterprise data warehouses Provide recommendations into support and modernization strategies for application architectures that vary from monolithic to REST APIs and microservices Optimize cloud workloads for cost, security, performance, scalability, high availability, governance, and compliance Integrate and migrate on-premise technologies and shared services with AWS and other cloud providers Automate the deployment of applications/workloads in public cloud or on-premises environments, using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins and Bamboo Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and business continuity for applications Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions and recommendations with research and a well-articulated rationale to arrive at viable options that highlight constraints, trade-offs and assumptions Help develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements Collaborate and provide technical leadership with team members, technical resources, and business stakeholders Coach, mentor and influence other team members on best practices and technologies Qualifications Bachelors degree in computer science, technology or related field preferred 5 years of experience with or public cloud architecture, design, implementation and migration required AWS Solutions Architect required Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) preferred.
