The position interfaces with various levels of ITand business personnel, monitoring critical security functions, evaluating keyIT processes from a perspective of information security, and advises on bestpractices and approaches. The ISO is an advanced role supporting the entirecybersecurity program. This individual provides executive support, strategicand tactical guidance, and complete execution for a world-class cybersecurityprogram, primarily supporting regional enterprise security initiatives. As directed bythe CISO, the ISO helps drive strategy while providing oversight and reportingon the execution of enterprise security systems, applications and operations.As a business enabler, the ISO ensures business decisions are not obstructed bycybersecurity but instead are made using sound security principles andsupporting corporate security policies and plans. The ISO will work with anadaptable and secure business-supporting cybersecurity team, in addition toinfluencing and executing with technical teams, which includes but is notlimited to patch management, security operations, security engineering andsoftware development. Essential Job Duties o Stayabreast of information security and information technology issues, threats,vulnerabilities and regulatory changes affecting the organization, and performindependent research as needed. Provide consultation and guidance to IT teamsas and when needed to address issues o Prepareand provide status reports and dashboards on various matters (BAU activity,projects, KRIs, strategy, etc.) to senior executives o Ensuresecurity governance is uniformly applied and remain informed on projectsprogress; create quality reports illustrating program status, areas forimprovement and success o Workwith, monitor and provide guidance, evaluation and advocacy on information securityrelated audits including scope of audits, issue finding, and disposition ofissues to put the institution in its best light. o Workclosely with various business functions (e.g., banking, equities, operationalrisk, compliance, legal, HR and audit teams) to provide security best practiceexpertise. Stay abreast of new laws, regulations and standards, and assesstheir impacts to the business o Driveefforts to internally assess, evaluate and make recommendations to managementregarding the adequacy of the security controls, security programs across theenterprise o Conductindependent verification of the company networks and sensitive programs throughinternal team resources and independent consultant engagements Skills andExperience o Demonstrateshighly effective communications skills with the ability to influence businessunits o Solidknowledge of information security tools and techniques, including: data leakageprevention, incident response, vulnerability scanning and reporting, securityoperations, identity management and Cloud security o Abilityto independently work, be counted upon, manage priorities, and remain flexiblein a changing environment while meeting project timelines o Provenhigh level of integrity, trustworthiness and confidence, as well as ability torepresent the company and security leadership with the highest level ofprofessionalism o StrongMicrosoft Office, project management and organizational skills o Applicableknowledgeable with the cybersecurity requirements and best practicesrecommended by various regulators such as the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), NewYork Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) regulations and frameworks, andothers; o Familiaritywith National Institute of Technology (NIST) standards, International StandardsOrganization (ISO) standards, etc. and aligning those with enterprise solutions& processes Education andExperience Requirements o Bachelor'sdegree and/or Masters degree in computer science, MIS, information assurance orrelated technical field.
