Daily processing and updating of workload tickets (ITIL) as per operational SLAs Follow and maintain standard operational processes and procedures in support of Avaya business and customer SLA expectations. Perform tasks such as addition, deletion, or modification to network system/service parameters to support Avaya business requirements. Work with customers supporting design, turn-up, and operation of the customers cloud connectivity. Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve reported issues adversely affecting customer service and/or productivity. Work with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to facilitate new business developments and customer services. Must be availability to provide operational support for a global customer base in associated time-zones. Rotational participation in emergency/on-call support outside of normal business hours as required. Qualification and Education Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Networking, Electronics and Communication or otherwise relevant field Minimum of 5 years working experience in an IT organization where Network/Cloud Operations was a key component Required Skills Excellent understanding and working knowledge of network switching, routing, load balancing, and firewalling. Working in a multi-vendor environment at all layers of the network to troubleshoot and support complex cloud solutions. Palo Alto firewall and Panorama experience mandatory, unless candidate is very strong in multiple desired technologies listed below. Experience with Juniper (both firewall and routing platforms) and Fortinet firewall is highly desired but not mandatory. Experience with routing/switching technologies (any vendor) mandatory, particularly data center LAN switching and BGP routing. Experience with Versa SDWAN (or other vendor SDWAN) highly desired but not required. Experience with Load Balancing technologies (F5, A10, and others) highly desired but not required. Working knowledge of cloud-based environments and architectures including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Azure and/or GCP experience highly preferred; certifications considered and asset Experience with AWS or other CSPs will be beneficial Excellent understanding of routing protocols (BGP), SDWAN, IPSec/SSL encryption technology, and remote access technology and services. Excellent understanding of multi-tenant networking (VRFs/VRs), prior experience working in multi-tenant networks preferred but not required. Ability to read, interpret and diagnose network packet captures using industry standard tool sets required. Familiarity of information security concepts and controls considered an asset; certifications from a recognized organization considered and asset. Excellent documentation skills using MS-Office (including Visio) Network and Firewall Operations The AEC Network and Firewall Operations team is primarily responsible for supporting: Day-to-day operations of the network environment via an ITIL framework Firewall services including access controls and threat protection for customer cloud environments. Customer connectivity between on[1]premises networks and their AEC solutions. Private network interconnects comprised of cloud exchanges, customer MPLS networks, and data center cross-connects. Switching and routing (L2, L3) infrastructure within data centers. SDWAN-based global networks providing inter-datacenter bandwidth Internet and DDoS protection for customer[1]facing cloud services. Managing global data center facilities including both physical and CSP (Azure, IBM Cloud) provided. While most members of the team are SMEs in one of two categories: Firewall and customer solution connectivity LAN/SDWAN and Internet all team members are expected to be able to provide Tier-1 support for ANY component of the network and firewall technology stack, with escalation to SMEs colleagues as needed. Other responsibilities of this team include collaboration with parallel Avaya support teams to ensure customer requirements for communication and collaboration services are being met. interaction with end-customers for all matters related to customers private and public connectivity. providing support for corporate security teams to ensure appropriate controls are in place for industry standard regulation frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO[1]27001 and SOC2.
