Title: Senior Technical Writer (Zero Trust) Location: 100% remote Duration: Contract through end of year + potential for extension This team oversees the Zero Trust program within the Security organization, and they are currently in a pilot program (only rolled out to 75 people out of all CVS employees). The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and collaborator, and knows Zero Trust. Must haves:- 7+ years as a technical writer (has documented technical policies around APIs, JSON, Swagger, etc) 2+ years with security documentation data loss prevention, cybersecurity, privacy, cloud, network, etc Proven track record with Zero Trust documentation (required) Hands on experience working in and updating SharePoint Their program page is very vanilla and they could use assistance here Excellent communication and writing skills Good personality!!! Nice to haves:- Zscaler knowledge/documentation experience a huge plus *please be asking for PowerPoint / writing samples as it relates to technical documentation (huge plus if its with Zero Trust/Zscaler) Reason for opening: Zero Trust program is brand new and they need help writing standards, policies, and documenting the program in its entirety. Team: Enterprise Security team focused on the Zero Trust rollout across CVS as a whole A Senior Technical Writer works with development, product managers, engineers, technical trainers, and other technical writers to craft and refine technical documentation, such as engaging and effective policies, standards, procedures, help articles, FAQs, playbooks, inline help videos, SharePoint and web pages, release notes, and on-screen text. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of subject matter experts (developers, QA and support engineering, product managers and help desk) to develop written documentation, user guides, help screens and marketing materials for technology-based products or services while meeting project requirements and schedules. Conform to document creation control processes, and established quality and style standards. Develop policies, standards, procedures and playbooks to support products and provide clarity to end users. Document complex technical subjects in ways that are easy to understand. Write, edit and proofread various technical and training documents. Organize information into a suitable structure, format and style. Translate technical information into clear, concise, and effective documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. Deliver content for policies, standards, procedures, help articles, FAQs, playbooks, inline help videos, SharePoint and web pages, release notes, and on-screen text (i.e., help articles release notes, etc.). Integrate graphics and illustrations to improve the quality and usability of the documentation. Develop new reports/table formats as needed to communicate program effectiveness Required Qualifications- 8-10 years of experience in technical writing. Bachelors degree in technical writing, policy writing, communications, or a related field (i.e., technical writing/communications certifications are also acceptable). Excellent oral, written, analytic, and organizational skills. Detail orientated, and able to think and write in context with the target audience. Ability to mentor and influence without authority. Self-motivated and effective in a fluid environment. Hands-on experience with OpenAPI Specification (Swagger) and JSON. Hands-on experience with JIRA and/or Confluence. Must have creativity and a sense of humor. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications- Experience in writing online help and knowledge base articles. Experience working in an Agile environment. Experience in network and/or cloud security. Experience with web-based or mobile products. Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies. Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles.
