Infrastructure IT Project Manager must be a PM (PMP certified leading and managing IT projects both infrastructure and security)

Infrastructure IT Project Manager  (MUST be a Project Manager managing/leading Information Technology Infrastructure projects)

Job Title: Infrastructure IT Project Manager   

Job Location: Remote (will work CST hours)

Length: 6-12 Month Contract

Pay Rate: $50/Hour C2C

Citizen Status:  US Citizen, GC Holder

Top Skills: Project Management, Active Directory, IT Security, Waterfall (this is a waterfall shop)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

            Own, manage and drive assigned IT Infrastructure projects to their successful completion

            Ensure deliverables/milestones in project plans are achieved within cost, schedule, scope, quality, and delivery

            Leverage industry best practices to plan, manage, monitor, and report on all projects

            Follow Project Management Framework and corporate processes to execute projects ensuring compliance with all deliverables and stage gate reviews

            Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

            Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis

            Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals

            Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary

            Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company

            Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary, during project cycle

            Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders

            Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel

            Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team

            Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path

            Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools

            Track project milestones and deliverables

            Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations

            Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas

            Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans

            Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle

            Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work

            Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project

            Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

            Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management

            Manage critical supplier, vendor, and internal customer relationships

            Maintain extensive knowledge and expertise in project management disciplines, as well as multiple business processes and/or technical areas

            Work with other Donnelley Financial team members to spread project management standards, disciplines, and rigor

Required Skills:

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

            Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience

            A minimum of 5 years of hands-on IT project management experience

            Experience in delivery of successful Enterprise level IT Infrastructure projects including data center moves, security, desktop refresh, database, telephony, enterprise software deployment, office close/relocations, and network and/or server projects

            Track record managing large scale networking/security/governance initiatives

            Proven ability to lead groups, manage project deliverables, and maintain internal and client relationships

            Experience in managing budgets, project plans, resource allocations, and priorities

            Demonstrated skills with project management tools

            Experience leading geographically distributed teams

            Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments

            Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation

            A general understanding of the following is required:

o            Local Area Network

o            Windows Active Directory environments

o            Wide Area Network

o            Virtualization, and high availability solution

            Strong leadership skills

            Excellent analytical and technical skills

            Excellent written and verbal communication skills

            Excellent planning and organizational skills

            Understanding of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate the politics

            Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions

            Ability to apply multiple solutions to business problems

            PMP or other Project Management certification
