An Architect at Charter makes technology decisions & leads from a technical standpoint. Self Service Applications on behalf of numerous business units across the enterprise. Talking with different groups ensuring solution is understood. This is a team of 10 Architects - Architecture Enablement Team They work through several lines of Spectrum business units. They work with HUGE groups inside the enterprise & they work on the backend of the team. They influence the work of hundreds of people across the org. Product Teams, Business Leadership. Small team with influence and exposure over LARGE ones. This is the team for someone who wants to be part of a small team that influences big decisions. Day-to-Day Objectives/Responsibilities REST APIs, Java based technologies but they are ok with other languages on the backend. They had 2 REST API layers; they are replacing the client facing layer with GraphQL (this is where the GraphQL piece fits into the role, used in their environment as an orchestrator). Understanding schema design, caching site, subscription site Nice to have-ApolloQL is a set of tools that manages GraphQL (Apollo is also good to look for on paper). Personality Profile: To be successful: Leadership skills, ARCHITECTURE skills, Software development experience in the past. If someone is a strong software architect with no GraphQL, that is acceptable. Architecture experience along with REST API experience is required. Previous experience working in Telecom HUGE plus.
