Actively involved in providing technical solutions in support of the Xfinity WiFi product suite by optimizing the AAA infrastructure for greater efficiency and reliability, monitoring application and hardware health, to ensure accurate authentication, authorization, and accounting, in compliance with security policies. Partners with key stakeholders: XWiFi Engineers from the Core Network, QA, and Operations teams, Product Owners, Security, MSO/Cablewifi partners, and vendors. Core Responsibilities AAA Design and Planning Participate in design of new features and enhancements to existing the AAA configuration and policy flow with key stakeholders Develop code for new features, policy flows, and protocols within the AAA platform Manage and maintain various profiles and models in support of different types of customers Support and optimize performance of current AAA infrastructure to maximize efficiency, capacity, reliability, and security AAA Implementation and Configuration Coordinate and support deployment of AAA changes from LAB to pre-prod to production Unit test and coordinate with Xfinity WiFi QA and 3rd Party Partners: Single Digits, Cox, Altice, Charter Define and socialize standard procedures for network installation, maintenance, and operations: create detailed MOPs Follow the change management process for creation, implementation, validation, and completion using Participate in development of automation to streamline processes Manage and maintain AAA hardware and network configurations for LAB, pre-prod, and production environments Plan and implement AAA hardware, network upgrades, and expansions AAA Platform Monitoring and Maintenance Monitor AAA platform performance: ensure high availability and reliability, identify problems and respond accordingly Build and enhance dashboards and alerts on key AAA hardware, software, and network elements AAA Network Security Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and malware Configure firewalls and advise on the integration of intrusion detection: protect the AAA platform from DDoS Participate in periodic network audits to ensure compliance with security standards AAA Documentation and Reporting Maintain detailed documentation on AAA for new development, changes, and deployment MOPs Maintain detailed AAA hardware and network documentation for LAB and production Define and create regular reports on AAA components for performance, availablity, and capacity to inform decision-making and drive continuous process improvement Collaboration and Communication Partner effectively with engineers, key stakeholders, and vendors Share knowledge and provide guidance to team members: provide technical support and assistance for AAA related issues Exercise consistent independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance to achieve maximum service availability and optimal customer experience Work productively without close supervision Participate in 24x7 on call rotation as primary or secondary Available to work nights and weekends as needed Attain and maintain key industry standard certifications and education Stay current with the latest AAA RFCs, industry best practices, and security trends Knowledge - Intermediate Protocols RADIUS, DIAMETER, EAP TTLS/TLS/GTC: secure profiles, certs, and keys, SOAP, SSH, UDP, TCP, SFTP, SCP L2 and TCP/IP Networking, IPv4/IPV6, MAC addressing - MAC randomization, Captive Portal integration Coding skills Java, Javascript, Perl Linux Intermediate, CentOS preferred Tools Grafana, Wireshark, Zabbix, Splunk Scripting/Automation Bash, Ansible Database/Streaming SQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka Hardware - HP or Dell: physical server configuration, monitoring, management, and alerting F5 Load balancers and VIPs - configuration, monitoring, management, and alerting CI/CD - GIT, GIT Copilot, Jenkins, Mortar, Docker WiFi RF and Networking General/Advanced Virtualization VMware, Cloud Skills Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing Radius AAA systems Strong knowledge of AAA protocols and standards: RADIUS and Diameter Solid understanding of access control mechanisms, authentication protocols, and encryption techniques Create and interpret complex requirements Develop new features and enhancements for the AAA platform Able to troubleshoot and resolve complex Xfinity AAA issues, remediate outages or performance degradation Proficient in monitoring and diagnostic tools to maintain highest availability and best customer experience: AAA application, network, and hardware Understanding of Network, OSS/BSS system integration points, and network security principles and practices Proficient in creating and interpreting documentation Quickly develop an understanding of XWIFI end-to-end call flows for each use case Proven business skills: able interact professionally with internal teams and external vendors Experience/Education Certifications: preferred CWNA, CWSP, Java OCA, CCNA Wireless, CCNA Routing and Switching or equivalent experience 7-10 years experience supporting in Telecommunication Development and Operations or related field managing high reliability large-scale systems B.S. Computer Science or Engineering or M.S.
