Title: SQL Database Support(100% Remote) Type: Contract Job Summary: The Candidate will be supporting Microsoft SQL Server in a production environment. U.S. Daytime shift is the primary time Some time outside of this U.S. Daytime may be required as incidents and unintended outages typically occur. You must be alright with this type of On Call schedule. Most of the databases supported are in AZURE cloud, while some are on premises. In the Azure Cloud we have many databases in the Managed Instances. The work is supporting Manufacturing team, Engineering Team, Business Intelligence Team, in database operations. Required Skills- SQL Server Administrative deep skills, backup recovery, replication, compression, always on, security, comfortable in TSQL development and best practices, tuning queries, tuning database, monitoring tools like SentryOne etc. 3-5 years minimum Other database experience such as Oracle, DB2 etc. have skills to support these technologies as situations arise. Willingness to learn and acquire new skills to support and develop in these areas. 1-3 years minimum Analytical Skills, intellectually curious and an ability to drill down to discover cause of issues to resolve problems, devise work arounds etc. Look for opportunities to tune up, simplify or save money. Good work ethic, be positive and work well with others, collaborative, dedicated to get the work done well, on time and with a positive attitude. Be proactive in your work, stay ahead of technology bee a go-to expert in your role. Take personal ownership of the databases ensuring they are 100% up and meeting SLAs. Partner with Infrastructure in provisioning and planning new Database or upgrades Deploy database change scripts provided by development teams. Some timing of these installs will be on weekends or holidays Job execution skills- Process, know our processes and work withing the systems installed. MS Teams, ServiceNow, LotusNotes, MS Office, Toad for Oracle, Putty etc. Abide by policy and have good business ethical behavior. Having DevOps , Agile our iterative development experience Manufacturing (MES) database and application is in SQL Server and related technology. There are some lightweight development or tuning tasks associated with this team Business Intelligence supporting this team and it SSIS jobs, Schedules, SQL Databases, MS PowerBI etc. some knowledge in DB2 may be helpful here.
