Title: (Senior Graphic and Illustration Designer)/ PS2 (713234) Location: 40% onsite Hybrid Columbus, OH Duration: long-term contract The Department of Aging is looking for a Senior Graphic and Illustration Designer capable of the following responsibilities. The Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) a cabinet-level agency within the executive branch of the Ohio state government. The director of ODA is a member of the Governor's cabinet, serving as principal advisor and advocate for 2.8 million older adults and their families. Through services, support, and activities that cover a wide spectrum of issues, ODA strives to achieve its mission to foster sound public policy, research, and initiatives that benefit older Ohioans. ODA is the federally designated agency responsible for developing and administering multi-year state plans that advocate for, and aid, older Ohioans and their families. In addition to the centralized functions, the agency designates and contracts with community providers and a network of 12 Area Agencies on Aging, who manage a wide array of federal and state-funded supportive services. These services assist older adults to live as independently as possible; promote healthy aging and active community involvement; and support family members in their vital care giving role. To promote the agencys vision of Ohio the best place to age in the nation, ODA actively collaborates with consumers, stakeholders from key associations, government, and the public. The independent Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman and the Board of Executives of Long-Term Services and Supports are also located within ODA. The Department of Aging is looking for a Senior Graphic and Illustration Designer capable of the following responsibilities. Plans and directs computer-generated graphic designs and visual communications services: creates and presents visual concepts for design; coordinates with supervisor and other agency representatives to maintain Department's image; incorporates Department's style based on given preset standards for font, layout, colors, etc.; participates in project development; submits work to clients for approval; provides instruction in use of media graphics; prepares requisitions to purchase graphic art supplies, stock images, and/or related equipment; serves as lead worker in the creative concepts team by being assigned the more complex projects and providing guidance to lower-level designer in order to achieve deliverables; orders deliverables from State of Ohio and external vendors. liaising with editors, authors or designers negotiating contracts and timescales undertaking relevant research and generating ideas drawing rough sketches for approval producing final illustrations Performs other duties as assigned: create internal and/or intranet website designs; serves on crisis communications team and responds to emergency requests for graphic needs; recommends policies and procedures regarding software, media materials, and/or printing methodologies;. serves on the daily media clips team.
