Senior API Developer Atlanta, GA (Hybrid Work Opportunity) 1 year contract Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs following the 12-factor application principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment and support of APIs. Utilize your knowledge of XSLT, SOAP, JavaScript, and other technologies to create robust solutions. Deploy microservices into containers, particularly in a Red Hat OpenShift environment. Actively participate in Agile development methodologies such as SAFe, Kanban, or DevOps. Create, optimize, and test code, leveraging tools like Dynatrace, Cassandra, and Selenium. Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) 7+ years of software and development experience in Java/J2EE in an Agile environment 3+ years of strong 12-factor application development experience using REST APIs Proficiency in XSLT, API, SOAP, Security, JavaScript, Full Stack, Docker, PaaS, and microservices Experience deploying microservices into containers Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift or a similar container orchestration platform Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills Knowledge of Object modeling and custom/vendor supplied schemas Experience in SAFe, Kanban, DevOps, or Agile/Scrum development methodologies Proficiency with enterprise Java applications and development frameworks Familiarity with Git and YAML files Experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying server and UI Screens using Java/J2EE Strong knowledge of API lifecycle management platforms Familiarity with frameworks for documenting/designing APIs (e.g., Swagger) Ability to build APIs for both external and internal consumption Passion for learning new technologies and adapting to evolving development paradigms Ability to meet challenging deadlines and work effectively in a team setting Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration and mentoring Knowledge of tools for code development, optimization, and testing (e.g., Dynatrace, Cassandra, Selenium, Apache Kafka, Apache Camel, Active MQ, IBM MQ) Experience with automated test suites, Test Driven Development (TDD), Jenkins, and CI/CD toolsets Experience in an AWS environment and with containers is a plus. Previous application system support experience is a plus. Airline industry experience is a plus.
