Position: Senior Network Security Engineer Location : REMOTE Duration: 12+ Months JOB DESCRIPTION: The security engineer will be responsible for performing operational support tasks on Cisco Firewalls (ASA) and other legacy firewalls, as well as support migration projects from legacy Cisco to future state firewalls (Palo Alto). Analyze issues to resolve within fault management team processes as well as identify needs for project work. The ability to work independently on moderate to complex projects, manage technical issues to resolution, and communicate clearly with leadership will be required. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively within a small group as well as with other teams such as Product Management, Security and Network Engineers and Service Managers. Need strong skills on Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and Juniper. Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues and related hardware chassis issues as needed Respond to escalations Develop, document and test configuration and policy corrective actions Coordinate with fault management team members Identify needs for firewall upgrades or replacement projects where relevant Perform IPS installation and configuration as needed Perform risk assessment associated with documented procedures Required Experience: 5+ years working as a Security Engineer in large scale enterprise network 5+ Years experience as a security engineer working with management and configuration of Cisco ASA's firewalls with policy development and troubleshooting 2+ year experience working with Cisco platforms at the physical layer 2+ year experience in migrating firewall platforms to Palo Alto Proven experience as a network engineer working with Wireshark or other packet capture software and packet analysis tools on protocols such as TCP/IP (BGP, OSPF, IPSec), Routing and Switching and network management protocols and tools such as SNMP, LDAP, AAA. Preferred Experience: Proven project experience working with Encryption and Hashing Algorithms DES, 3DES, AES, RSA, MD5 and SHA-1 Security Certifications a real plus: CISSP (ISC)2, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, OSCP, etc. Education: BS (minimum) or MS degree in CIS, Security, Engineering, Math, Telecommunications, Sciences.
