Position: 100% Remote Systems Engineer Location: 100% Remote Duration: 6+ months Job Description: We are seeking a talented and experienced Systems Administrator/Engineer III to join our dynamic IT team. As a Windows Infrastructure and Cloud Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing our on-premises and cloud-based environments, ensuring their reliability, security, and optimal performance. Your expertise will extend to both automated and manual tasks, with a focus on leveraging cloud services and Microsoft Power Platform. Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage Windows-based systems and applications in on-premises and cloud environments (AWS/Azure), ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implement solutions, and provide technical expertise in system architecture planning. Perform regular system maintenance, including patching, updates, and configuration adjustments to guarantee system stability and security. Automate manual tasks using scripting (Power, Bash, Python, etc.) to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary optimizations to meet performance targets and ensure a seamless user experience. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across Windows environments, adhering to security best practices. Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines, enabling efficient application deployment and infrastructure as code practices. Utilize cloud services and tools to architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based resources, focusing on cost optimization and scalability. Work with cross-functional teams in Microsoft Power Platform to develop and maintain business applications, automate workflows, and create custom solutions to enhance productivity. Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in systems administration, cloud computing, and automation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience in systems administration/engineering roles, with a strong emphasis on Windows environments and cloud technologies. Proficiency in managing Windows Server operating systems (2016+) and related services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings. Solid scripting skills using languages like Power, Bash, Python, or similar for task automation and configuration management. Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools, enabling collaboration between development and operations teams. Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or equivalent certifications are desirable.
