Title: Embedded Device Tester

Location: NYC, NY (Work from Office)

Duration: Long Term Contract

**looking for candidate that has experience with installation, setup, configuration and managing embedded devices in Infrastructure environments**

***Needs Infrastructure experience into managing Embedded devices***

JD:

Set up, change and maintain prototype devices.

Monitor device health, and perform manual remediation as necessary when devices cannot be automatically remediated.

Perform device configuration changes as requested by software engineers.

Investigate testing failures which may be the result of hardware issues.

Skills:

Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.

Ability to work independently and manage ones time.

Ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.

Working knowledge of Linux.

Python or bash programming.

Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical fields.

Experience working with consumer electronics development.

Additional Notes:

1. General overview of what the day to day work they will accomplish

b. Deploy and configure new devices or expand the existing device pool to support testing automation.

c. Monitor device health

d. Manually fix unhealthy devices (also known as remediation)

e. Create more dashboards and automated health monitoring solutions.

f. Automate device deployment.

2. Top 2-3 must have skills required to do this role

a. Quick to learn

b. Organized

c. Scripting under Linux for automation

d. Document everything

3. Any tools or soft skills you require:

a. Linux,

b. Working with electronics (embedded devices) under development.

4. What is the candidate selling point that makes this role interesting:

a. Similar to a data center engineer, with a hardware device twist.
