Title: QA Lead / Manager Location: Remote Duration: Long Term Job Description The QA leaders role is to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure software product quality. QA Leads responsibilities include estimating, planning, and coordinating testing activities. The QA Lead will also ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved. The ability to quickly assess risk, lead a team to a decision point and ensure plans are executed are critical skills required to perform this role. The lead role is very hands-on and highly interactive in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment. Responsibilities: Manage the QA, SDET globally distributed team. Participate in the design process to understand, analyze and influence the application/service/system to be tested. Identify the risks and appropriate test coverage to validate new features as well as regression, and develop test plans and cases. Create, maintain and upgrade load systems including automation script writing. Come up with more efficient ways to test features and identify the area of testing that can be automated. Execute test cases, manually or in an automated fashion, capture and analyze the results, document issues and prepare test reports. Present testing results and progress to the management team Use Test Management tools to create, maintain, track and execute test cases and the Defect Tracking tools Agile, Kanban, etc. Analyze and identify the issues found during testing, either work with the QA teams and/or the R&D teams to diagnose them. Understand the business aspects, as well as the ways the customers are using the system; and check if the system is performing as it should have been Expect to design flexible and scalable test strategies and automation to provide both wide and deep coverage of our websites and mobile apps, and to ensure the quality of our content, our user experience, and the collection of accurate analytics data Oversee a hybrid team of QA and SDET engineers A key success factor for this role will be a facility for making pragmatic tradeoffs in what should be automated and what should be tested manually Responsible for designing the overall strategy for end-to-end QA testing framework Ensure on time and on budget execution of projects, small and large Propose new projects aligned with the company goals, including resource estimates and value propositions Work closely with business stakeholders and external customers to ensure critical issues are addressed Lead test plan/cases review for large-scale integration projects and post-mortem assessments of projects Provide guidance to the team on automation strategy Document and communicate issues, risks and concerns Collaborate closely with product, project, and development teams to identify and resolve technical, business, and process related issues. Qualifications 10+ years of QA and automation experience 5+ years Product Lifecycle delivery, Digital/Web experiences 3+ years of leading/mentoring test-automation engineers Experience working with high volume end-user facing systems Strong understanding of object oriented programming concepts Strong understanding of backend and service/API testing Experience with several of the following: , Bash/C Scripting, PHP, Python, Java, Javascript, SQL, MongoDB Strong experience with web application testing tools (preferably open source software such as Selenium, Cucumber, Robot Framework) Strong experience with Linux Experience with performance testing and benchmarking Excellent communication skills with emphasis on writing clear technical documents Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields Experience with the digital, ad tech and web content industries Familiarity with high availability, high performance, and service oriented architecture principles Experience working with remote teams & global resource partners/team mates Project management expertise w/ resource planning and project costing Team player, Independent, out-of-the-box thinker, and self-learner.
