Job Description -

Job Title: ETL/Data Engineer(SQL Server and SSIS Developer)

Location: Hybrid, Austin, TX ! Must be local

Visa: No H1B

**ONLY CANDIDATES LOCAL TO TEXAS NEED APPLY**  Must have three references with email, name and contact number.

2 days onsite in Austin (Tuesday and Thursdays), 3 days remote. Yearlong contract with possible extension- ideal start date is 10/23/23. Must have At least 6 years in the following technologies- SQL & T-SQL, SSIS, SSMS, Azure Data Studio, Git. Previous experience working with state government, or in a pension or retirement domain.

Responsibilities: 

The Data Engineer will work as an ETL developer, understand the business needs, perform data analysis, design, develop, test, and implement the requirements based on the data mapping needs. The candidate will collaborate extensively with the Data Migration Team to populate the target database and deliver reports with metrics on data conversion throughout the Software development life cycle (SDLC).

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.

Expertise with SQL Server and SSIS (ETL Processing).

Proficient in T-SQL scripting (stored procedures, functions, views), SQL query design, development, testing, and performance optimization

Experience skills sets needed: SQL Server, ETL(SSIS), T-SQL, SSMS, Azure data studio, Git

Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or higher

Work with the BA and gather the needs and create/update the mapping documents.

Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodology and/or SCRUM

The ability to assess data sources and detect data issues and patterns prior to data migration.

Capable of learning and supporting new and existing applications.

The ability to function in a fast-paced work environment, efficiently manage time, and fulfill deadlines.

Excellent technical troubleshooting and code debugging abilities.

Work with minimal supervision and proactively addresses actions and issues.

Experience working with scripts under source control (Git/etc.)

Excellent verbal, written, and social skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Reporting Tools, ETL Tools experience a plus

Pension or Retirement domain experience a plus
