Job Overview: As a Teradata Developer with Unix and SQL expertise, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions that leverage the Teradata database system. Your primary focus will be on data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, SQL query optimization, and system administration on Unix/Linux platforms. Key Responsibilities: Data Modeling: Create and maintain data models to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of data in Teradata. Design tables, indexes, and database structures to meet business requirements. ETL Development: Develop ETL processes to extract data from various source systems, transform it as needed, and load it into Teradata databases. Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the ETL pipeline. SQL Development: Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and user-defined functions to support data retrieval, reporting, and analytics. Optimize SQL code for performance and efficiency. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize Teradata database performance. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using tools and techniques such as indexing, query optimization, and system configuration. Unix/Linux Administration: Administer and maintain Unix/Linux servers that host Teradata databases. Perform system monitoring, user management, and routine maintenance tasks. Data Integration: Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to integrate Teradata with other data systems and applications. Ensure data flows smoothly between systems. Security: Implement and maintain data security measures, including user access control, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data stored in Teradata. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for database schemas, ETL processes, and system configurations. Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to team members. Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve data-related issues, system errors, and performance problems. Provide support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and other teams.
