Position: 100% Remote Senior Python Full-Stack Engineer Location: Palo Alto, CA Duration: 12+ months Note --- This role is 100% Remote BUT only looking Palo Alto, CA candidates Job Description: Experience in the following tech stack (must have experience in all) python fastAPI react postgreSQL huge plus if they are coming from a biotech background and understand regulatory compliance standards (HIPPA/CLIA) We are looking for an exceptionally skilled Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer with a proven track record of working with Python, FastAPI, React, PostgreSQL, and a Linux-based environment. The Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer will be a key contributor to the development of an early cancer detection platform, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, biotechnologists, and engineers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including bioinformatics experts, data scientists, and product managers, to translate scientific requirements into software solutions. Architect, design, and develop robust, scalable, and secure web applications that support NGS-based cancer screening test. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring code quality and best practices are upheld. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while adhering to regulatory compliance standards. Conduct code reviews and implement continuous improvement processes to optimize software development workflows. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks in the software. Stay current with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and bioinformatics methodologies relevant to cancer screening. Collaborate in the deployment and maintenance of applications on Linux-based servers. Implement automation and DevOps practices to enhance system reliability and scalability. Contribute to the development of software development guidelines and best practices specific to the bio-technology industry. Qualifications: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Software Engineer. Expertise in Python, FastAPI, React, and PostgreSQL is essential. Full understanding of TDD and knowledge in writing unit, functional, and integration testing. Knowledge in a container-based deployment environment (k8s). In-depth knowledge of Linux-based environments and server management. Experience in the biotechnology or healthcare industry is highly desirable. Strong familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (i.e., HIPAA and CLIA) is a significant advantage. Proficiency in version control systems (i.e., Git) and collaborative coding workflows. Previous leadership or team management experience is a plus. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
