Role : Python Test Engineer Client : Healthcare Domain Location : Redwood City, CA (Onsite 3 days/week onsite) Duration : 12+ Months MOI : Phone/Skype Visa : No H1B/CPT Skills: Python, Shell, Batch, Bash and Linux commands. Experience with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence. Experience with JIRA or any similar bug tracking tools. Experience with JAMA or any similar test management tool Job Description: The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for writing test procedures, test automation scripts, test reports, executing test plans and filing bugs. The candidate must be comfortable working with complex electro-mechanical systems, deploying new software releases and running the test protocols on the systems. The candidate will work in close relationship with the software team and other stakeholders to improve the test infrastructure, data collection, data analysis and measure software product quality and performance throughout the software development lifecycle. We are looking for a candidate that can work independently but also function well within a team and with other functional groups, is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and willing to take responsibility & ownership. Responsibilities: Writes thorough test plans/test protocols, test cases, test scripts and test scenarios. Executes test protocols, test cases, test scripts and scenarios and log/follow-up on defects. Creates test automation scripts in python. Perform thorough review of test plans/test protocols, test cases, test scripts and test scenarios. Analyzes application specific software and performs ambiguity reviews of business requirements and technical functional specification documents. Works with development teams to understand and review technical design to devise effective test strategy and is flexible enough to source out this information even without formal requirements. Works with other functional groups, and stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelors in software engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field 4+ years of progressive experience in software testing Must have experience writing test protocols, test cases, test scenarios. Must have experience with python coding. Strong understanding of test methodologies such as performance, load, stress, functional, regression, unit, etc. Thorough understanding of SQA process; should have experience in implementing SQA process(es) previously. Strong analytical/communication skills, capable of uncovering anomalies in robust software. Experience with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence. Experience with JIRA or any similar bug tracking tools. Experience with JAMA or any similar test management tools. Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Batch, Bash and Linux commands Software testing for complex electro-mechanical systems An approachable individual who provides a high level of teamwork and cross-functional collaboration. Desired: Additional years of experience, experience with robotics systems Experience in the Medical Device industry or medical field Knowledge on Windows and Linux operating systems Ability to work in a regulated environment in compliance to ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820.
