About The Role The role will consist of working closely with PM, designer, and other engineers to plan, scope, and implement features in our Android app, using primarily Kotlin. The project is to support the Gifting feature on the Etsy app for Android. We have these established features on the iOS Etsy app. This project will consist of the end to end shopping experience, revamping the user experience, and engaging a new product space fort Etsy. Requirements Be able to take ambiguous product direction and perform discovery to inform about dependencies, trade-offs, and potential solutions Have experience working at scale and as a contractor; someone who can catch up to speed quickly when receiving this project Experience leading complex projects and working with engineers on other platforms Be able to share an opinion if something is working or not and able to offer solutions Comfortable and have experience with collaborating with other engineers, product manager, and designers Have 5+ years working in Android and have been in the Android App technical space for the last 2-3 years Experience in building coding architecture Someone who can identify gaps between iOS and Android Someone who can identify trade offs to create the best experience for the user Nice-to-Haves Experience with e-commerce Strong product thinking Details/Notes Leave request or general support General support Open to remote/flex/on-site Open to all three Any specific time zone requirements/working hours The team primarily works east coast hours, so they would need to be able to make that work Specific tool requirements & programs/software used standard industry expectations: MacOS, Android Studio, etc. Required certifications None Is there a possibility for an extension and/or permanent role in the future Due to the 2024 planning timeline, right now we are only officially hiring through the end of December, extension due to performance is highly likely.
