The goal will be to do the appropriate ROI analysis of Northeastern adopting a learner-first approach in its programs and admissions. This business analyst will be performing the appropriate analysis on not just financials but what the technical complexity/data will look like moving forward were this implemented. We recommend a performance-based admission (PBA) process that allows students to begin taking courses without engaging in a traditional admissions process for matriculation. Upon successful completion of 2 courses as a non-matriculated student, the student is automatically admitted into the graduate degree and will only then be asked to submit limited, required documentation to support their enrollment, such as proof bachelors' degree completion. Successful completion of the two graduate courses is the single criterion for admission. This model can be implemented across the university network in the graduate admissions space. A performance-based admissions model provides a more equitable and inclusive solution for todays global adult learners from diverse backgrounds and experiences. It reduces barriers and bias in traditional admissions processes, which can certainly exclude worthy candidates. This model also provides a tool for institutions to attract nontraditional learners by allowing them to prove their readiness via performance in actual degree courses.
