ABOUT THE ROLE: DBHDS - Senior Data Warehouse Architect for the EDW Modernization Project, a cornerstone of the Agency's Data Exchange and Modernization Program. This project will implement a SaaS EDW and build integrations with multiple source systems. The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Architect to join our team for a long-term project involving the implementation of a new Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution and a new Data Governance SaaS platform. This transformative initiative aims to enhance our data management capabilities, drive data-driven decision-making, and ensure data governance compliance across the DBHDS organization. This role will be a member of the Data Exchange and Modernization Program and will be working with a multi-project team in a hybrid agile environment. Position will be hybrid remote and 2 days a week on average required to be on-site at DBHDS office in Richmond. Parking will be in public lots with a daily rate. Some travel within VA may be required, occasionally overnight. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Data Warehouse Architect will work with the team and vendor to strategically design and implement the new EDW while ensuring high levels of data availability. This individual will determine the strategy for transitioning data sources from the existing data warehouse to the new EDW. This individual is also responsible for defining data standards and models for warehouse architecture. Skills: Experience as a data warehouse architect, including cloud SaaS solutions Required 8 Years Proficient in data modeling, database design, and the use of ETL tools. Required 8 Years Experience working with multiple database platforms, such as SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, DB2, Netezza, and IMS DB. Required 10 Years Proficient in programming languages, such as SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Python, Cobol, and JCL. Required 10 Years Understanding of data governance policies, procedures, and standards, including those for security Required 5 Years Understanding of APIs and other integration technologies Required 5 Years Experience with business intelligence and reporting platforms Required 8 Years Understanding of machine learning and predictive analytics.
