Position: Data Quality Engineer Location: Foster City, CA ( HYBRID/DAYONE OSNITE) Duration: 6 Months JOB DESCRIPTION: Key Skills: 6-10 years of experience in QA in Data engineering and application development. Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Yarn, File formats like Avro/Parquet) Strong knowledge of data engineering technologies and tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, ETL processes, SQL). Proficiency in data validation and testing tools and frameworks. Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Selenium, Apache JMeter). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to drive best practices and standardisation across data engineering processes. Good to have: Airflow Good aptitude, strong problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills, ability to take ownership as appropriate. Should be able to do coding, debugging, performance tuning and deploying the apps to Prod Ability to work on the sprint stories to completion along with Unit test case coverage. Experience working in Agile Methodology Excellent communication and coordination skills Knowledgeable (and preferred hands on) - UNIX environments, different continuous integration tools Must be able to integrate quickly into the team and work independently towards team goals. Role & Responsibilities: Quality Assurance Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality assurance strategy for data engineering operations. Quality Standards: Establish and enforce data quality standards and best practices to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Testing Frameworks: Design and implement testing frameworks and strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing, for data pipelines. Test Automation: Promote and implement automated testing practices to enhance the efficiency and reliability of data testing. Data Validation: Create and maintain validation scripts to check data correctness, data transformations, and business logic. Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for data quality procedures, best practices, and standardization guidelines. Collaboration: Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, and other teams to understand data requirements and proactively identify potential data quality issues. Mentorship: Provide mentorship and training to QA team members and ensure the development of a skilled and knowledgeable team. Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve data quality processes and identify opportunities for optimization.
