Enterprise Java Software Engineer VISA: NOH1B LOCATION: Irvine, CA (4-days per week onsite) Long Term Contract Job Description: We are looking for an Enterprise Java Developer with experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. You will be part of a software team working on maintaining and enhancing our mission-critical Fixed Income and Equity Pricing application for a high-profile client. Your role in this position will include application maintenance of the existing system as well as design and implementation of new product features. Youll also be expected to provide expertise across the entire technology stack. Responsibilities: Write well designed, testable, efficient, and maintainable code Maintain ownership of code changes across all phases of the development lifecycle Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications Participate in department wide initiatives outside of primary role: o Technology stack upgrades o Resolving audit findings o Client driven initiatives Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review Requirements: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms with an emphasis in EJB 3.1 Good understanding of common design patterns Understanding of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management, etc.) Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies; EclipseLink (preferred), OpenJPA, Hibernate Strong front-end development experience in JavaScript with an emphasis in ReactJS. Other frameworks/libraries suck as Angular will be considered. Comfortable working in Windows, Solaris, and Linux environments Moderate scripting experience required; ksh preferred Scheduled Time Off Policy: As part of ongoing business practices, State Street has instituted a global Scheduled Time Off program. The requirement is to take twenty (20) calendar days off, excluding holidays in each calendar year and will be prorated if the assignment is less than the full calendar year. Scheduled time off is required for all time and materials workers including temporary workers within Staff Augmentation and Services Procurement, with the exception of IT Globalization (ITG) workers who are exempt from the requirement. The manager has responsibility to manage their workers to the Scheduled Time Off program. The worker will report their Scheduled Time Off (unpaid work days) on the weekly timecard in the CLASS tool.
