You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of cloud platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing the infrastructure and networking components of solutions deployed on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Azure Infrastructure lead play a crucial role in ensuring that the underlying infrastructure supports the performance, security, scalability, and reliability requirements of applications and services hosted on Azure. Your Role and Responsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into well-architected Azure infrastructure designs. Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing Azure solutions, considering aspects such as virtual networks, storage, compute resources, and data management. Define the architecture and configuration of Azure resources, including PaaS services, databases, networking components, and security measures. Optimize resource utilization, cost efficiency, and performance of Azure solutions. Design and configure virtual networks, subnets, security groups, load balancers, and VPN connections to ensure secure and efficient communication between Azure resources and on-premises environments. Implement security best practices, identity and access management, and encryption mechanisms to protect Azure resources and data. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements. High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement strategies for achieving high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery for Azure-based applications. Set up backup, replication, and failover mechanisms to ensure business continuity. Leverage Azure automation tools, templates, and scripting languages (such as Power) to automate deployment, scaling, and management of Azure resources. Monitor and analyze the performance of Azure solutions, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and optimizing resource utilization. Must have implementation knowledge of monitoring tools like Grafana, Datadog, and Prometheus. Implement scaling strategies to accommodate changing workloads. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of Azure infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures. Provide training and guidance to IT teams and stakeholders on Azure best practices and usage. Define and enforce cloud governance policies, resource tagging, and cost management practices to ensure efficient resource allocation and budget control. Stay up to date with Azure updates, features, and best practices to inform and enhance infrastructure designs. Required Technical and Professional Expertise Overall 12+ years of experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Azure Infra lead. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Azure Infra certification (AZ 103/ AZ 300/ AZ 301/ AZ 304). Expertise in Azure PaaS services, AKS, Azure Container App, Service Bus/ Event Hub, Hub-n-Spoke, VPN (site to site), security practices, and identity management. Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, scripting languages (e.g., Terraform/ ARM templates), and automation practices. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified are often required or preferred. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) is a plus.
