BASIC FUNCTION: As a Data Scientist proficient in Power BI, you will be a crucial member of our Reporting, Analytics, and Self-Service (RASS) team, working to unlock the potential of data and provide strategic insights that drive business success. In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging your data expertise, statistical analysis, and Power BI proficiency to extract, analyse, and visualize data in a way that helps guide key business decisions. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA) Collect, clean, and pre-process data from various sources to ensure data quality and consistency. Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations within the data. Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve complex business problems. Create interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Power BI to present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide data-driven solutions. Continuously monitor and assess data quality and accuracy, making necessary improvements. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to data science and Power BI. EXPERIENCE: Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a strong portfolio of successful projects. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year experience in oil and gas refining, chemicals, energy, and/or heavy manufacturing industry. EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. REQUIRED SKILLS: Proficiency in Power BI, including the ability to create interactive reports and dashboards. Strong knowledge of data visualization best practices and an eye for design. Proficiency in data analysis and statistical modelling using tools like Python, R, or similar. Experience with data pre-processing, data cleaning, and feature engineering. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
