Role:- DB2 DBA Location :- Lansing, MI (Onsite) Duration: 12+ Month Job Description: We are looking for an L2 DB2 LUW DBA with secondary skills in SQL Server administration. This person will help DBAs with knowledge of other databases management systems support. This person will eventually be expected to help support other database management systems such as Postgres SQL, MongoDB, Oracle and Sybase IQ with the help of SMEs in those areas. Job Description: Required: Linux or AIX command line experience Db2 administration at the system level o Creating instances o Creating databases o Db2 command line utilities, such as db2top, db2pd, db2top, backup, runstats, reorg, load o Troubleshooting Db2 errors and performance problems o Restoring Db2 databases from backup images o Understanding of security roles Db2 administration at the application level o Knowledge of SQL language o Understanding of database objects such as tables, views, triggers, etc. Query tuning experience Preferred: Ability to read and understand Db2 LUW stored procedures Ksh or Bash shell scripting experience Experience with Db2 LUW Federation o Wrappers o Federated Servers o Nicknames o User mappings Experience with a third party scheduler for batch jobs. o (not crontab) o TWS/Stonebranch experience desirable Experience with a third part monitoring software o Nagios experience desired Experience with change management software o BMC Remedy experience desired Experience administrating in SQL Server. Other duties: Participates in 24 hour on call rotation.
