Job Title : Scada Engineer Work Arrangement : Remote Responsibilities Collaborate with internal and external partners to review, consult, recommend and facilitate implementation of advanced control & energy management systems for our energy storage projects. Owns the control and instrumentation device selection, PLC panel design, and control/instrumentation wiring, PLC/PPC/HMI programming including technical specifications. Review conceptual designs from internal/external partners including consulting and advising on Engineering diagrams such 30%/60%/90% design completions. Review control & instrumentation deliverables including plant telemetry datapoints, SCADA Plant Control Narratives, alarm designs, Sequence operations, loop diagrams Oversees the performance of day-to-day plant automation tasks to ensure network reliability, availability, and serviceability within minimal interruption. Provides complex technical support, responds to complex work orders and tickets from the users, analyzes and solves complex reported operation technology / control systems problems. Responsible for design & implement Control system infrastructure ensuring every design maintains the highest level of quality and reliability and comply with industry standards such as NERC/CIP and NIST. Oversees and participates in network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware, software, and integration testing. Participate in on-field construction and plant commissioning activities. Serves as Subject Matter Expertise for control and instrumentation related systems. Interface with external EPC vendors during project bidding and execution phases. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required - Computer Science or Engineering preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in related industry, experience with renewable energy industry highly preferred. Knowledge and experience with advance energy storage management systems features including, Primary Frequency Response, Fast Frequency Response, & black start is highly preferred Demonstrated expertise in designing and maintaining plant control systems such as SCADA , HMI, and AGC Understand data logging requirements and various historian platforms Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition (preferred) Knowledge of industrial communication protocols DNP3.0, Modbus, OPC-UA, BACnet Programming language experience C, C++, C# Experience in server deployment and management Proficient with writing technical specifications for process or manufacturing equipment Strong understanding of cyber-security best practices including IT/OT standards. Knowledge of NERC / CIP/NIST procedures Additional Skills & Qualifications Prefer BSEE and extensive background in industry, but at a minimum need utility background, renewable is a plus; water utility not applicable Look for experience at any US utility generating plant or companies like Ulteig,Moss Engineering, Quanta or Dobble Employee Value Proposition (EVP) Great long-term contract/potential contract-hire opportunity with an energy storage market leader, led by proven transmission-level project developers, with a well-positioned pipeline that will transform Americas electric grids into cleaner and more versatile critical infrastructure.
