User Experience Designer VISA: USC/GC Only LOCATION: Hybrid / Vienna, VA in office 4 x a month Duration: 6+Months **local Candidate highly Desired Description: Basic Purpose To conceive visual design solutions to complex product initiatives through composition, typography and interaction models, keep deliverables engaging and on-brand, and drive cross channel projects. Works on moderately complex projects with minimal risk. Participates in the creation and evolution of visual experience design strategy. Works independently with direct guidance and direction from higher level staff and management. Responsibilities Develop and recommend comprehensive visual design solutions Participates in Optimize the user experience through creating visual on-brand compositions that drive improved experiencesModerate Latitude Influence team members and business partners, explaining the impact of designing/developing with the end user in mind Moderate Latitude Collaborate with project teams to define the visual identity Assist in Leading Assist in defining user experience goals through visual engagement Participates in Design and implement user-centered deliverables Participate in Document project specification requirements for developers Moderately Compelx/Varied Operate within the right Design Thinking methodology based on the product, channel, audience, and the application requirements or workflow Moderate Impact Create and apply visual design styles and best practices, such as composition, color theory, accessibility and typography, and guides the team in their use through style guide creation Moderately Complex/Varied Create prototypes for testing to ensure design meets business and user objectives Moderately Complex/Varied Act as subject matter expert for design inspiration Recommend user experience improvement opportunities Moderate Latitude Ensure design solutions remain engaging to the customer Considerable Impact Maintain and monitor solution effectiveness Act as stakeholder in development, testing and implementation of UX design projectsParticipates in Assist with managing multiple projects under tight deadlines across a broad variety of product categories and audiences Participates in Proactively draw out user experience or design issues and successfully address those issues to ensure projects stay on track to meet interim project milestones, project time/scope/quality/funding expectations Moderate Impact Perform as a project team member, owning UX deliverables throughout Development Lifecycle for multiple projects within various phases Assist in Leading Ensure that the IT deliverables meet design expectations Assist in Leading Remain abreast of emerging technologies, and industry best practices and trends Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, User-Centered Design/Human-Computer Interaction, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Familiarity with UX design principles and ability to apply them Familiarity with design fundamentals, such as color theory, typography and composition Knowledge of interaction design, visual design, and industry standards Knowledge of user centered design processes and best practices Knowledge of modern development standards, techniques and methodologies (e.g., HTML, XHTML, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, etc.) Effective detail and organizational skills Ability to learn and apply new technologies to usability and design challenges Advanced verbal and written communication skills Exposure to managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals Exposure to performing analysis of business processes and functions Familiarity with project management to include establishing and leading project teams; managing timelines/deadlines/resources; ensuring successful project implementation Desired: Human Factors Institute Certified Analyst Knowledge of web, mobile and application design Keywords: user experience information technology green card Virginia |
