has an exciting opportunity to be a key contributor in the evolution of our Data Quality Center of Excellence (COE) Product Team. We are looking for a 

Alation Catalog Admin and Change Lead

. The position will report to EIM Lead. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Alation Catalog Administrator and Change Agent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Alation data catalog while actively driving change and promoting data governance best practices within the organization. Your work will be critical in ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and governance, ultimately contributing to data-driven decision-making and business success. 

Responsibilities 

      Manage the Alation Catalog, implementation of new use cases and drive user adoption. 

o  Administer and configure the Alation data catalog to ensure optimal performance and functionality. 

o  Maintain data catalogs, glossaries, and data dictionaries, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate. 

o  Implement metadata standards and taxonomies to ensure consistency and ease of data discovery. 

o  Work with data stewards and subject matter experts to capture, curate, and document metadata for various datasets. 

o  Establish and enforce metadata quality standards to enhance data reliability and trustworthiness. 

o  Lead the planning and execution of data catalog changes, including new data sources, metadata updates, and system enhancements. 

o  Communicate changes effectively to stakeholders, addressing concerns and ensuring a smooth transition. 

o  Provide support to catalog users, assisting with data discovery, metadata understanding, and catalog usage. Develop and deliver training programs to ensure effective use of the Alation catalog across the organization. 

o  Implement data quality checks and lineage tracking within the Alation catalog. 

o  Monitor data quality issues and work with relevant teams to address and resolve them. 

      Promote Data Governance through use of Alation tool. 

o  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and promote data governance policies, standards, and best practices. 

o  Act as a change agent for data governance initiatives, driving cultural and organizational change towards data excellence. 

o  Provide guidance and training to end-users on data governance principles and practices. 

o  Identify areas for improvement and work towards optimizing data management processes. 

      Implement and manage Data Quality and Lineage 

o  Implement data quality checks and lineage tracking within the Alation catalog. 

o  Monitor data quality issues and work with relevant teams to address and resolve them. 

Minimum Qualifications (required) 

Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, Technology, or related field (or equivalent years of training, work experience and education) 

      Proven experience working with Alation or similar data catalog solutions. 

      Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices. 

      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead change efforts. 

      Proficiency in data management, metadata management, and data quality tools and practices. 

      Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

      Familiarity with Alation Data Catalog and its capabilities. 

      Experience with SQL and data querying. 

      Project management skills. 

      Certification in data governance or Alation administration.
