Solid grasp of IP routing and switching: ISIS, OSPF, and BGP Core Network Design and Planning Support and optimize performance of current network infrastructure to maximize efficiency, capacity, reliability, and security Participate in design of new features and enhancements to existing network design and configuration with XWiFi Engineers Model Core Network capacity for failure scenarios to proactively predict routing and topology changes Core Network Implementation and Configuration Plan and implement Core Network upgrades and expansions Manage and maintain Core Network configurations for LAB and production environments: physical servers, cloud, and network components Coordinate the installation and configuration of network changes for LAB and production Unit test server/cloud, network, LB changes, and coordinate with XWiFi QA Define and socialize standard procedures for hardware and network installation, maintenance, and operations: create detailed MOPs Assist in asset inventory management Follow the change management process for ticket creation, change implementation, and post-deployment validation Participate in development of automation to streamline processes Core Network Documentation and Reporting Maintain detailed Core Network documentation for LAB and production Define and create regular reports on Core Network performance, availability, and capacity to inform decision-making and drive continuous process improvement Core Network Security Implement and maintain Core Network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and malware Configure firewalls and advise on the integration of intrusion detection: protect the XWiFi Core Network platform from DDoS Participate in periodic Core Network audits to ensure compliance with security standards: hardware, software, and network elements Knowledge - Intermediate Tools Zabbix, Grafana, Wireshark, IP Control, Netconf/YANG, Splunk, Prometheus/MaaS Server management: provisioning and configuration: physical, VM, cloud Network: Routing, Switching, F5 load balancers, VPN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLAN, OSPF, BGP, GRE, L2TP, IPv4/IPv6, MAC addressing, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, TCP, UDP, Telnet, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, QoS, Network Monitoring Firewall: Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG Linux, CentOS preferred L2 and TCP/IP Networking Software Defined Networking, network automation, data-plane programming Virtualization VMware, Cloud Coding skills Java, Javascript, Perl, Python, AI/ML Scripting Unix, Bash, Ansible Protocols RADIUS, DIAMETER, EAP, SOAP, SSH, SFTP, SCP CI/CD - GIT, GIT Copilot, Jenkins, Mortar, Docker, Kubernetes Database/Streaming SQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka Nokia experience preferred WiFi RF and Networking - General/Advanced Skills Proficient in monitoring and use of diagnostic tools to maintain highest availability and best customer experience Experienced in hardware configuration, and operating system and application installation Able to troubleshoot and resolve complex Xfinity WiFi Core Network issues and faults and remediate outages or performance degradation Understanding of Network, OSS/BSS system integration points, and network security principles and practices Solid knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologies; their applications and routing Extensive experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista switches and routers Solid grasp of IP routing and switching: ISIS, OSPF, and BGP Proficient in the understanding and practical application of programming the network versus configuring networks Able to create and interpret complex requirements and technical specifications Proficient in creating and interpreting documentation Proven business skills: able interact professionally with internal teams and external vendors Experience/Education 7-10 years experience supporting in Telecommunication Development or Operations or related field supporting high reliability large-scale systems Certifications: CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNP, CCIE, CWNA, CCNA Wireless, CWSP, Java OCA 7-10 years experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista switches, and routers 7-10 years experience with network protocols B.S.
