Platform System Engineer Location- Hybrid 2 days onsite in Austin, Texas. Visa-Any Duration: long-term Contract About the job We are currently hiring an experienced Platform Systems Engineer for a long-term opportunity in Austin, Texas. The work setting will be hybrid with the expectation of 2 days a week onsite. This position will involve collaborating with various departments. As a result, you must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide technical documentation in a manner that groups of various skill levels will understand. ***We are looking for someone with at least a few years of well-rounded Azure Infrastructure experience. Team handles the base like Azure Active Directory, App registrations, Azure Policy, managed identities, vnets, private link, subscriptions, logging etc. Responsible for Infrastructure-as-Code deployments and configuration management of the various services to be used by Data Engineers and Architects. ADLS, Synapse, Databricks, Key Vaults, etc. Strong Power experience is a minimum requirement.*** As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting core infrastructure including computer, storage, cloud, identity, and application support. This role will aid in managing a complex enterprise scale application and infrastructure environment, which includes robust Windows Server, VMware, and Azure cloud services. If selected, your duties may include, but not be limited to, the following: Assisting with the design, deployment, automation, and maintenance of the environment. Providing platform support including on premises and cloud compute, storage, services, and infrastructure. Automating processes and integrations across multiple technologies, primarily using Windows Power. Analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving complex platform issues. Performing installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services. Assisting in the development and facilitation of evaluations of new and existing solutions to identify potential benefits and impact to the organization. Monitoring platform services to ensure system availability and efficiency. Collaborating on the development and documentation of new policies, procedures, and standards for supporting core platform technologies. Collaborating with other organization staff members to identify and implement service and security improvements. Minimum Required Qualifications: 5 years experience with Power Automation 5 years experience working in an Azure Infrastructure (i.e RBAC, Policy, Synapse, ADLS) 5 years experience working with VMware vSphere, Enterprise storage, Network 5 years' experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments (Windows and RHEL) Experience or strong knowledge of the practices, principles, and techniques of core infrastructure for support of platform services using automation and monitoring. Experience or knowledge of technologies such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Pure, NetApp, Microsoft 365, Red Hat OpenShift Experience or a strong knowledge of current enterprise hardware design, cloud architecture, and security best practices. Understanding standard core infrastructure technologies, tools, and protocols including Active Directory, certificate services, code versioning, fiber channel, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP services. Experience creating effective automation and integration solutions using Power. Prior experience analyzing routine problems and developing solutions. Strong written and verbal communications skills Planning, organizing, and coordinating work to effectively meet frequent and/or multiple deadlines; handling multiple tasks simultaneously; and managing conflicting priorities and demands.my Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, or a High School diploma or equivalent and additional full-time, related experience may be substituted for the required education on an equivalent year for year basis (i.e., 4 years of work-related experience). Preferred Qualifications Experience in Microsoft infrastructure design and support. Experience in Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure design and support.
