Almost like a startup - just starting to incorporate design, user experience etc. into what they do. Lots of meetings - be able to speak up, lead meetings, come with ideas etc. Need to be very good at Figmas, product design, user research, and have an out of the box thinker mindset. Only having freelance experience probably isn't a great fit, need to have some corporate experience as they are tying to build for repeatable processes etc. Job Description: National Indemnity Company is seeking a UI/UX Designer motivated to take on digital challenges in a growing and dynamic environment. Candidates should have deep understanding and experience of driving and owning user experience design development. Experience in design tools is a core requirement and the candidate must be detail oriented with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management across multiple departments. The UI/UX Designer will ensure that the products and experiences delivered fully meet internal and external customer needs. The UI/UX Designer is responsible for creating intuitive, high-quality and seamless customer experiences for a variety of internal and externally facing applications by optimizing the functional experience and designing a polished and distinctive branded experience for products and applications. A key contributor for the design strategy for multiple digital products, leveraging data and user research, as well as keeping up to date with modern design trends as it relates to the organizations strategy. Responsible for applying user-centered design principles and techniques to partner with software delivery teams to inform and improve solution design. Expected to interact with business stakeholders across multiple departments, and Product Owners, developers and BA/QA professionals on the delivery team(s) to develop a shared understanding of business and user goals. Required Knowledge: *Bachelor degree or equivalent in education and experience *Proficiency in UX design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, InVision, etc.) *Experience with user research methods and techniques *5-7 years related work experience Preferred Knowledge: Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and software development practices and procedures Experience working in application lifecycle management tools such as DevOps, JIRA, or Rally Experience working within a Content Management System such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Design experience in mobile platforms (iOS and Android) Familiarity with continuous delivery and continuous integration Insurance industry and product knowledge Skills: *Strong facilitation skills *Strong interpersonal skills including conflict resolution skills *Strong sense of ownership and accountability *Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization *Ability to explain and defend a view point and persuade others to a defined position *Ability to prioritize work objectives and goals Keywords: quality analyst business analyst user interface user experience information technology green card |
