We are seeking an experienced CIM (Common Information Model) Data Modeler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, particularly in the utilities or energy sector, and possess a deep understanding of the CIM standard. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining CIM-based data models to support our organization's infrastructure and information systems. SKILLS: Data Modeling skills, Experience with IEC-CIM. Experience with ArchiMate, SPARX EA, ERWIN, and SQL. Software Development experience, Developing data and application architectures. CIM Data Modeling: Develop and maintain CIM-compliant data models for utility/energy systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to industry standards. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, software developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and implement CIM-based solutions. Model Development: Design and create conceptual, logical, and physical data models based on CIM for various utility domains such as transmission, distribution, generation, or metering. CIM Implementation: Lead the implementation of CIM data models into the organization's systems, ensuring seamless integration and interoperability. Standards Compliance: Stay updated with the latest developments in CIM standards and ensure alignment of data models with evolving industry requirements and best practices. Documentation and Communication: Create comprehensive documentation for CIM data models, including diagrams, specifications, and guidelines. Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks and reviews of CIM data models to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of information. Collect business requirements and perform gap analysis Data mappings (source CIM target) Build logical data model Create both Data-at-Rest and Data-in-Motion models as needed Create context models based on business requirements Create Physical data models (e.g. XSDs, DDLs, JSONs, and/or RDFs) for implementation Create Physical service models (e.g. WSDLs or RESTful designs) as needed Support sample data model validation such as sample XML message payloads Support implementation team in what (Task that is being performed Assist with requirements analysis for and process definition of data model governance Implement business and IT data requirements through new data models across all data platforms (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL) and data tools (reporting, visualization, analytics, and machine learning). Enhancement and application of data standards as specified by external regulators (includes but not limited to data modeling standards, naming standards, metadata standards) Participates in team discussions with other data modelers and data SMEs across the enterprise Development of data mappings, data flows, identification of system of record for various logical and physical entities (in collaboration with information architects) Validating data models and exchange models are consistently applied to various transactional and analytical solutions * Good communication and interpersonal skills.
