We have an urgent requirement Role: Lead Front End Developer Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) Duration: Long Term Hyatt is seeking a Lead Software Engineer joining the Global Digital and Technology organization, working on new, innovative systems for Hyatt Guests and colleagues. This individual will work closely with back-end services teams, front-end designers, and product management to create scalable applications on the web. As a Lead Software Engineer, this individual takes a direct hand in the performance of the team as a whole while remaining directly involved with development efforts. The team also collaborates with the Operations team to build infrastructure and care for Hyatt.com and associated properties in production, as Tier 3 support. They apply DevOps tools and culture to deliver software to production early and often, with highly automated and reliable procedures. The ideal candidate possesses the following characteristics: Is skilled and passionate about software engineering specifically front-end and/or back-end web development, and someone who is eager to fill in the gaps in their toolbox. Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions: Responsible for the technical solutions developed by the team. Has expertise on all technologies used by team. Is able to use business knowledge to guide team technical decisions. Expert in and proven experience with design and architecture patterns. Considers multiple approaches and recommends best technical direction including logic and reasoning. Ability to work with minimal supervision and to direct and improve a small team. Assumes team level responsibilities and identifies and resolves in-depth needs though. Works with product and design leads to help stakeholders translate ideas into technical solutions. Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels Designs and develops robust highly scalable client-side and server-side components with solid monitoring and alerting capabilities, adhering to architecture standards Works with the team to leverage unit tests effectively to ensure a high degree of code quality. Provide Tier 3 production support, as needed able to troubleshoot complex technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Academic projects and/or side projects may be considered as well. BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience. A partial, unordered list of desired skills includes Java, React, Node.js, Next.js, Restful API design, GraphQL. Familarity with databases (MySQL, MongoDB), web servers, and UX/UI design. Strong Agile experience preferred in an environment leveraging devops patterns and practices.
